Founded on relationships

Solent Powder Finishers Ltd was established in 1982 by Godfrey & Christine Sumner. Godfrey had a wealth of experience in the powder coating industry but wanted to do business a bit differently from what he had experienced, with high integrity and a focus on the people that make a business work.

Family Legacy

The current business is a testament to Godfrey and Christine’s original values, and they continue to be maintained by the current Managing Director, their daughter Helen.

Helen has worked for the business since 1997 and is proud to continue her parents’ legacy.

This is a true family business in every aspect.

Always Listening

In 2007 a customer requested we get involved with supplying not just their powder coating but also helping them to supply sheet metal components.

We then moved into a second unit and opened a machine shop with welding and fabrication facilities.

We also upgraded our coating line to a larger size in response to increased demand for larger jobs and reduced demand for high volume runs.

We have many exciting plans, and our current focus is on Operational Excellence with a view to future growth. We are constantly looking for ways to serve our customers better – your success is our success.
